Most Alaska disability hearings take place at the Anchorage, Alaska office of the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR). The Anchorage ODAR office services the Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Ketchikan Social Security field offices.

Alaska Social Security Administration offices
Some Alaska disability hearings take place at the Alaska district Social Security Administration offices. There are four Social Security Administration offices in Alaska, which are located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Ketchikan.
In addition, you will visit your local Alaska Social Security office if you decide to apply for disability benefits in person. There are two ways that you can apply for disability benefits. You can complete your Alaska disability claim on the Internet at www.socialsecurity.gov/applyfordisability or telephone a Social Security Administration teleservice center at SSA’s toll-free number, 1-800-772-1213. Teleservice center staff will make an appointment for you with an SSA representative from a local office either to complete an application in person at your local Social Security office or to set up an appointment for someone to take your claim over the telephone. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, you may call the Social Security Administration’s toll-free TTY number, 1-800-325-0778, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on business days.
Anchorage Social Security Administration office
The Anchorage SSA office is located on the corner of 8th and C Streets in the Federal Building Annex. The building is partially underground and has large windows at street level. The office is in Room A11, which is at the bottom of the inside ramp.
Visitor parking is available across C Street to the west of the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse. The Anchorage PeopleMover bus service is available on C Street to the west of the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, and one block north on 6th Avenue.

The Fairbanks SSA office is located on the first floor in Room 138 of the Fairbanks Federal Courthouse Building. Short-term parking is available at the front of the building.
